This
video is an introduction to climate change and its impact on the world economy.
In this episode Professor Banerjee describes the scientific evidence for climate change and
global heating and its impacts. It features a recording of the breaking up of a
glacier and the retreat of ice sheets in the Arctic. Professor Banerjee discusses current rates of
warming and the goal of holding the increase in global average temperature to
well below 2˚C and ultimately below 1.5˚C by
2100. Climate change is real, it is happening now, it is the result of human
activity. And all of us have a responsibility to act.
