Behavioural economics is a growing field which brings insights from psychology into conventional economics. In this video, Dr Simon Hayley introduces Behavioural Economics and what it can tell us about adherence to social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. He concludes that explaining why social distancing is needed is only part of the story. Other factors have a major impact on our behaviour and we are less rational than we would like to believe.
